Fix these 2 things before you rebuild your funnel.
The most boring business I know keeps winning contracts.
My friend runs a rubbish collection company here in Singapore.
No funnels, nothing viral, and nobody has ever asked her about her content strategy.
She keeps winning the contracts anyway.
She hires better managers, her people stay longer, the way she rewards them still works as the team gets bigger, and the delivery doesn't fall apart.
I thought about her this week while I was coaching a private client.
He wanted to start a shiny second company.
The job he'd just moved into, running business development at the property maintenance company he works for, was still brand new.
His boss is getting that company ready to go public, which means what the boss actually needs from him right now is cash coming in.
His idea for the second company was fine.
But everyone I know who's actually scaled a service business did it on the same deeply boring thing, and it was never the funnel they were about to rebuild.
→ Look at what happens right after somebody says yes to you.
→ If five more clients turned up tomorrow, which two parts of your delivery would break first?
Fix those two before you go near your marketing again.
✅ There's not a lot of competition in boring businesses.
You just have to be a bit different, or a bit better.
He's staying in the boring job for now, and I think that's the one that actually pays him.
