Prayer pointers week 2🙏🙏
1. Romans 1:18-32 📖
- Ask God to convict our hearts of our sin, to honour him rightly as God, repenting of all ungodliness and unrighteousness in our lives.
- Ask God to help us see sin and wrath as the world's greatest problem, that the gospel is the greatest need of the world!
- Ask God for perseverance in holding out the truth about God to a world 🌍 that doesn’t see fit to acknowledge him.
2. Bible Study Leaders + Trainees
- Give thanks for our crop 🌾of bible study leaders and trainees, who show us Jesus in their lives and speech 😌
- Pray that they keep growing faith and joy in the Lord. Pray that our time together in Romans will strengthen them and their obedience in our faith.
- Ask God to help them serve others sacrificially and sustainably, even as the rigor of the semester 😬 starts to ramp up.
- Pray that they keep leaning on Jesus in prayer, and not on the idols the world tries to seduce them with.
3. SUTD Christian Fellowship 🤝
- Thank God for a good time at SSBC looking at how there is none better than Jesus from Hebrews. Pray that they all recognize how amazing Jesus is, and so treasure him and proclaim him to our friends and family!
- SUTD is having exams 📚this week. Pray for the students to study hard and rest hard, but above all, to remember their identity in Christ.
- CF has been reading "Before You Share Your Faith" over the past few weeks. Pray that students will evaluate their own attitudes towards evangelism, identify specific fears they have, and see how the gospel speaks to that. Pray CF will grow in love for unbelievers and in fervour for evangelism.
- Pray for those on internship to persevere in living for Christ and sharing the gospel. Pray for the rest who will be on break soon, that they will have a restful break before the term starts again mid September.
- There will be new students coming in to SUTD in September! Pray that God would be gracious to provide many students who want to join CF to grow in knowledge and love for Jesus, and desire for others to know and love Jesus ❤️
- Pray for Shawn (staff worker) & Cheryl (wife), Dav (husband) & Steph (female staff worker). Pray for good working relationship between Shawn and Steph, considering both just joined the staff team this year. Pray for Shawn & Cheryl to have patience and thoughtfulness towards the kids and each other during a period when they adjust to new routines, showing Christ's love to them, and also to neighbours. Pray for Dav & Steph during a very busy period. Pray that they would strive for and model godliness towards each other and the kids as much at home as they work hard to proclaim the gospel outside of home.
