Dear Brothers and Sisters!
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
The BIBLE – 1 John 5:13;
This is a final, magnificent verse of encouragement from John, the last remaining disciple and eyewitness of JESUS, to the churches in Asia Minor. How could I possibly express my joy and gratitude more clearly and effectively? GOD, the CREATOR of the entire universe, cares for each of His creatures. He grants us eternal life in His glory if we believe in the name of His SOD, JESUS CHRIST. He Himself became human in the form of JESUS. He even sacrificed His life to save us from all the lostness of sin and death. The only condition: faith, the inner devotion to CHRIST. I never tire of writing this again and again and inviting others to follow CHRIST.
GOD not only gives us the assurance of eternal life, but He also preserves us until we reach this goal. He helps us to live a life pleasing to Him along the way. 18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. (1 John 5:18) We urgently need GOD's help. He keeps us from evil when we listen to His voice. 19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. (1. John 5:19) At our conversion, we are born again to new, eternal life. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13.14) The world, which is in the grip of evil, has lost all claim on us because, since our conversion, we belong to CHRIST. His HOLY SPIRIT leads us henceforth in the freedom of the children of GOD. Praise the LORD!
What an infinite gift, for GOD's HOLY SPIRIT grants our spirit insight to which the world is blind. 20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 21 Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. (1 John 5:20.21) To put it in my own words: JESUS is GOD. He was GOD before His incarnation. In Him, GOD emptied Himself of His divinity for 33 years. In and through Him, GOD, who was in Him as the HOLY SPIRIT, worked. And finally, He returned to His divine glory and reigns over the universe from eternity to eternity. This very same GOD wants us to be with Him. We only need to take the step of faith and become His disciples. Praise the LORD!
Praise, honor, glory, thanks, and adoration be to you, dear Lord Jesus! Every fiber of my being belongs to Him alone, JESUS!
