💼 OpenAI cuts Cursor's model access after SpaceX acquisition

OpenAI will terminate its agreement with AI coding tool Cursor on November 12, citing distrust of Elon Musk-owned companies to comply with its terms of service. SpaceX acquired Cursor this month for $60 billion.

OpenAI pointed to Twitter's past violation of its data contract and Musk's admission under oath that xAI trained Grok using OpenAI's output. The company also said it will withhold future models from Cursor, including the upcoming Astra model. Cursor co-founder Michael Truell downplayed the impact, noting OpenAI models represent just 5% of the tool's AI traffic.
