Mahindra Aerostructures को Airbus से A320neo फैमिली के विमानों के लिए fuselage skins बनाने का बहुवर्षीय कॉन्ट्रैक्ट मिला है।
इन पुर्जों का निर्माण बेंगलुरु स्थित Mahindra की सुविधा में होगा और बाद में इन्हें जर्मनी के Augsburg स्थित Airbus Aerostructures प्लांट भेजा जाएगा।
प्रत्येक विमान के लिए Section 18 की 8 और Section 19 की 3 fuselage skins बनाई जाएंगी।
इसके लिए Mahindra advanced chemical milling, surface treatment और stretch-forming जैसी विशेष उत्पादन क्षमताएं विकसित करेगा।
2028 से अंतिम डिलीवरी शुरू होने का लक्ष्य है।
Mahindra पहले से ही Airbus के H125 और H130 हेलीकॉप्टरों के लिए fuselage निर्माण/assembly तथा commercial aircraft के components की आपूर्ति कर रहा है।
Airbus के अनुसार, यह समझौता भारत के aerospace manufacturing ecosystem को मजबूत करने में महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
Airbus भारत में aviation skills को बढ़ाने के लिए Delhi-NCR में दो pilot-training centres भी विकसित कर रहा है, जिनकी संयुक्त क्षमता 14 full-flight simulators की होगी।
