🇩🇪🇺🇦 Production of over 5,000 long-range strike drones for Ukraine has begun in Germany. The first samples are already ready, and the tested systems will enter service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine this year, - Handelsblatt
💬The creation of drones is being carried out by a joint venture of the German-American company Auterion and the Ukrainian developer Airlogix near Munich, which was founded in February of this year. The project is being implemented at the request of the German government, and sources in the defense industry estimate the cost of the contract at approximately 300 million euros.
💬The partners plan to fully fulfill this large-scale order by mid-2027. At the same time, the companies are counting on new orders and long-term cooperation in the future.
💬To ensure high production rates, the assembly of drones is being deployed not only at the site near Munich, but also at an additional factory in the eastern part of Germany.
💬The enterprises assemble two models of drones: a medium-range and a long-range version, which is capable of covering a distance of up to 1,500 kilometers. All devices are disposable and carry explosives for direct destruction of enemy targets.
💬In this cooperation, the companies have clearly divided technological tasks. Ukrainian Airlogix supplies housings and mechanical components, while Auterion is responsible for the software and operating system.
💬Artificial intelligence is integrated into the drone software. It allows them to successfully reach designated targets even in conditions of active suppression by enemy electronic warfare systems.
