ABA congratulates Ales Bialiatski on being awarded the Democracy Service Medal by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) this fall, in recognition of his decades-long commitment to advancing freedom, human rights, and democracy in Belarus.
Ales Bialiatski has endured imprisonment and persecution for standing up to authoritarian rule, documenting human rights abuses, and defending those whose fundamental rights have been denied.
We congratulate Ales on this well-deserved recognition of his extraordinary courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to a free and democratic Belarus.
