This operator spent 76 days in the snows of the Yukon, filming the Canadian lynx and its hunt for hares. Gradually, he tamed the animal to himself and his equipment, earning its trust and forming friendly relations between them.
The Canadian lynx is smaller than the common one: body length 85-115 cm, height at the withers 60-65 cm, and weight 8-14 kg.
The basis of its diet is the snowshoe hare (up to 75%), with the remaining part consisting of birds, small rodents (squirrels, beavers, muskrats), and ungulates (red deer, bighorn sheep). In years when the snowshoe hare population decreases, these lynxes practically do not reproduce - that is, their population is regulated by the amount of available food.
This cat lives in the forested regions of Alaska, Canada, as well as the states of Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Colorado.
Fun fact: The Canadian lynx has the largest feet relative to its body size of any cat species, which helps it to walk on snow and hunt more efficiently. 🐾❄️
