🔸 The Fed's preferred inflation gauge came in hotter than forecast. July PCE rose 0.2% on the month against 0.1% expected and held at 3.7% for the year instead of easing to 3.6%. Real spending was flat.
🔸 Meta and attorneys general from 29 states discussed a possible settlement in the middle of trial in Oakland, in the case alleging Facebook and Instagram were designed to addict teens.
🔸 OpenAI's Jalapeño chip beat every state-of-the-art inference processor now on the market on both tokens per user and throughput per kilowatt, on SemiAnalysis' InferenceX benchmark.
🔸 Canada set counter-tariffs of 15% to 50% on over $20 billion of US goods, covering dairy, seafood, appliances, wood and paper and clothing, with steel and aluminum doubling to 50%.

🔸 Hyperliquid switched on its Aligned Quote Asset v2 framework for USDC on August 26, sending roughly 90% of cost-adjusted reserve yield on USDC supplied to the network into its $HYPE purchasing fund.
🔸 Zcash fell 7.6% to $787 after Grayscale's converted spot ETF started trading on NYSE Arca under ZCSH holding up to 393,000 ZEC, ending a 56% week that hit an eight-year high near $880.
🔸 Solana processed a record 4.2 billion transactions in July, up 13.5% from June, with monthly volume now about 91% higher than December 2025.
