— European officials protested Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov’s participation in the U.S.-hosted G20 meeting, with many refusing to appear in a group photo with him, NYT reports.Siluanov was left out of the photo, although U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent still met him and described the talks as “productive.”
European officials were also angered that South African representatives were not invited to the Asheville meeting, despite South Africa being a longtime G20 member and Africa’s largest economy.
