— During a White House meeting last week, Secretary of the U.S. Army Dan Driscoll spoke directly to President Trump about his concerns of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's firing of several senior U.S. Army officials, four sources familiar with the discussion informed The Atlantic.Driscoll told Trump that the U.S. Army could not adapt due to the departure of several of its leading officials, and Trump was surprised when Driscoll informed him how many senior officials had been fired and expressed similar concerns about the numerous departures of U.S. Army senior officials.
