— U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee told The Jerusalem Post that Washington is concerned about Turkish officials’ rhetoric toward Israel.Huckabee said Trump is trying to bridge the differences, noting his “good relations” with Erdoğan and “excellent relationship” with Netanyahu.
He said the recent Israeli strike on Syria’s Abu al-Duhur airbase was meant as a warning ahead of a claimed Turkish deployment.
No one was killed in the strike, and only the runway was damaged. Huckabee compared it to a baseball pitcher “brushing the batter back” to signal, "You're moving into an area you’re not supposed to be in” and should “back up.”
He also expressed hope Türkiye will “decide to be helpful” and become a stabilizing force in the Middle East, while noting its intentions remain unclear.
