🟠 Bitcoin gets quantum defenses while the market waits for the next leg

Bitcoin had a strange but important week: price held near $78K, ETF inflows stayed strong, and developers pushed the first real steps toward post-quantum protection.

This is not an urgent “quantum will break BTC tomorrow” story. It is more about Bitcoin preparing before the threat becomes real.

📊 What it means:
— StarkWare tested an experimental quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction on mainnet.
— The method works, but it is slow and expensive, so it is not ready for normal use.
— Blockstream researchers also published a Bitcoin upgrade proposal using a post-quantum signature scheme.
— The trade-off is size: the new signatures are still much larger than current Bitcoin signatures.

⚠️ Context:
— Bitcoin ETFs brought in more than $3.3B in August, the strongest month since the 2025 all-time high.
— CryptoQuant’s bull/bear indicator turned positive again, with Ki Young Ju saying the bear cycle is over.
— Bernstein still sees BTC reclaiming $125K and gives a bull case of $500K by 2029.
— But Friday’s ETF outflows ended a 9-day inflow streak, so the market is not moving in a straight line.

Solana also made a major supply move. Validators approved “Double Disinflation,” cutting future issuance by 18.9M SOL over six years and bringing terminal inflation closer much faster.

Bottom line: the market is getting bullish again, but the bigger story is structure. Bitcoin is preparing for quantum risk, ETFs are absorbing supply, and Solana is tightening issuance. This is what a more mature crypto cycle looks like — less noise, more infrastructure.
