Model OSCE
When: 27 April – 1 May 2026
Where: Tashkent, Uzbekistan
The OSCE Programme Offices in Astana, Bishkek and Dushanbe and the Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, are pleased to announce a call for applications for the Central Asian Model OSCE. The event will bring together university students and young professionals across the Central Asia to learn and build capacity in active participation in the decision-making processes and will provide the platform for youth dialogue on security issues and multilateralism.
Aims:
- to build confidence and trust among young women and men with different backgrounds from Central Asia and empower them by enhancing their knowledge and skills on OSCE principles, values and processes which they can apply and promote in their respective professional, political and civic engagement roles.
- to provide a platform for dialogue and co-operation among youth and strengthen young people’s engagement in the decision-making processes across the Central Asia;
- to provide youth with a comprehensive understanding of comprehensive security concept and the three OSCE dimensions, building links among students and young professionals from Central Asia;
- to create lasting connections among informed young women and men from Central Asia motivated to engage, collaborate and network in the future.
Participants:
The candidates for participation in the CA Model OSCE shall:
- be the citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan;
- be 18-25 years of age;
- have written and oral fluency in English;
- have a demonstrated interest and/or relevant experience ininternational affairs;
- have an experience in engaging with local communities or youth-led organizations will be an asset;
- be willing to engage in a multi-cultural environment.
The participants will be selected on a competitive basis. The organizers will attempt to achieve a gender balance.
Logistics and Funding:
The organizers will cover the travel related costs, i.e. air-tickets,accommodation and meals for all selected participants in Tashkent from 26 April to 2 May 2026, including arrival and departure dates.
Note: Please be advised that personal expenses and any costs incurred outside of the official programme are the responsibility of the participants.

Format of the Model
The CA Model OSCE will include training sessions and presentations about the OSCE, current challenges to security, training sessions on negotiations, gender equality, fact-checking, dialogue and others. Through interactive sessions, presentations, group activities and simulations, participants will gain insights into the workings of the OSCE, understand the dynamics of diplomatic negotiations. The core activity will be a simulation exercise of the OSCE Permanent Council. Networking opportunities with OSCE representatives will also be organized.
VERY IMPORTANT: The working language of the Model is English. No interpretation will be provided.
Assessment and accreditation
Each participant of the CA Model OSCE will receive a certificate of participation upon successful completion of the event.
The selection of participants will be based on a transparent and impartial process, guided by the principle of gender equality and a wide geographical representation.
