INDIA'S GDP GROWS 7.8% IN Q1 FY2026–27 DESPITE GLOBAL HEADWINDS

India's real GDP grew 7.8% year-on-year in April–June 2026, beating the 7.1% market expectation and the RBI's 7% forecast.

Real GVA grew 8.2%, while:

• Manufacturing: +9.2%
• Financial, real estate & professional services: +12.1%
• Private consumption: +7.1%
• Private investment growth: nearly 12%

—> Nominal GDP rose 10.3% to ₹88.27 lakh crore.

PM Narendra Modi called the performance a “herculean feat,” citing oil-price shocks, supply-chain disruptions and global uncertainty.

“Doomsayers were doomed and India bloomed…yet again!”
— PM Modi

The strong quarter highlights continued momentum in India's domestic demand, manufacturing and services despite significant external risks.
