The AG knows his polling is where it is and the base is watching to see what he does to show he is serious about election integrity. If this was just to scare a Mayor and shake up a small town - it does not add up. But, if this was to put Kansas in the national spotlight, that our checks and balances are a Banana Republic and not only can illegals vote in Kansas, but they can run for office and win and the system won't flag it.
Then what else does this force in Kansas to change? This effectively just took out the current Kansas Secretary of State as a qualified candidate for Governor. Under his watch an illegal voted and became Mayor. The Kansas SOS looks like a fool now.
What do you think is all going on with the Kansas AG office? The time and resources to go after a small town Mayor, seems overblown unless there is a bigger play in motion. Short term, all this does is create sympathy for the Mayor of a small town. The city officials interviewed by the news, seem to really like him. This is not going to win over support for the AG from small towns.
Is the AG focusing on something bigger? Is this really about gutting the Kansas voter system in place? Now that it has been put on display to the entire country as flawed and broken? Is the AG preparing to get behind President Trump's EO to ban the election machines and mail in ballots, and also force the voter registration process into reform?
What do you think is all going on?
