About the Role
A reputable manufacturing organisation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and availability of plant equipment, utilities, and engineering systems through effective preventive and corrective maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
* Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
* Install, commission, and maintain plant equipment and utilities.
* Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, QA, QC, Stores, Procurement, and EHS teams.
* Manage engineering spare parts and provide technical specifications for required equipment and materials.
* Support equipment qualification, change control, deviations, CAPA, and GMP compliance where applicable.
* Liaise with equipment suppliers and contractors for specialized repairs, installations, and technical support.
* Monitor equipment performance and escalate major breakdowns, recurring failures, and critical engineering issues.
* Supervise technicians, artisans, contractors, and other maintenance personnel when assigned.
* Ensure all maintenance activities comply with approved SOPs, GMP, and safety requirements.
Requirements
* BA/B.Sc./HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* 2–5 years of relevant maintenance engineering experience.
* Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance systems.
* Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment installation, and breakdown troubleshooting.
* Good understanding of plant utilities, engineering safety, and maintenance procedures.
* Ability to work effectively with production, quality, procurement, and other technical teams.
* Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to supervise maintenance personnel and contractors when required.
