الشبهة الثالثة عشرة: أكثر المسلمين يحتفلون بهالجواب: كثرة الفاعلين لا تجعل البِدعة سُنَّة، كما أن قلة المتمسكين بالسُّنَّة لا تجعلها باطلًا. الميزان هو الدليل وما كان عليه النبي ﷺ وأصحابه.
وقد تمر على البِدعة قرون حتى يألفها الناس، فيظنونها من الدين، مع أنها لم تكن معروفة في زمن النبوة ولا الصحابة ولا القرون المفضلة.
20/28 — Misconception 13: Most Muslims Celebrate ItThe number of people practicing something does not turn an innovation into a Sunnah, just as the small number of people adhering to a Sunnah does not make it false.
The standard is the evidence and the way of the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions.
An innovation may become familiar over the centuries until people assume that it is part of the religion, even though it was unknown during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, his Companions, and the virtuous generations.
