Why should you sign the petition?
Well, if violence against women and girls is declared a national crisis in Ethiopia, it means rising GBV and femicide will finally be considered as urgent problems to address and given a priority by the government. Actions that follow include: the establishment of a high-level coordinating body with the authority to compel cross-ministerial cooperation, a dedicated domestic treasury budget line to properly fund survivor services, and even enforce strict delivery timeframes and mandatory public reporting to ensure accountability.
