Hello everyone 😁
My name is Fikir Belete, and I am a 6th-year medical student.
A strong vision for our association requires a strong foundation built on proven commitment.
Having been active in this association for many years, I understand how it functions on both a local and a national level. That has given me a realistic view of our strengths, our bottlenecks, and precisely how to bridge those gaps.
Over the past few years, I have played different roles to grow this association and its members;
👉EMSA-AA Presidential Assistant & Interim President
👉 EMSA-Ethiopia Capacity Building Assistant & Certified National Trainer (TNT)
👉 NORP Assistant and SCORP-AA Vice-director
👉Creator & Project Manager of some of our beloved projects, including the SCOME-ANKI project and SCORP Project Inclusion
👉Global Leadership Alum: Harvard Aspire Leaders Program & Millennium Fellowship Campus Director
If I am elected as your President, I will make sure that our association becomes an open, practical launchpad for every single medical student to truly become more than a student.
🚀 ACCESS
I firmly advocate for open opportunities for medical students, as we are where the energy is, and we are where the passion is. I will continue to scale up access to opportunities like research, internships, exchanges, and volunteerism.
🌱 GROWTH
True capacity building means making sure students have the raw confidence to lead and feel entirely comfortable in the professional spaces they occupy, because that is the only way they can actively create value. I will actively collaborate with EMSA-Ethiopia and external stakeholders to create capacity building opportunities for students, where they can acquire skills to benefit themselves, the association and the community.
🔥 IMPACT
Last but not least, this pillar is rooted in my own journey in our association. Seeing a problem, coming up with a solution, and having the structural support to implement it is exactly how the SCOME-ANKI project and Project Inclusion were born. This happened right here within EMSA-AA, and that is the exact experience I want every single medical student to have. In this age of innovation, my vision is for EMSA-AA to be an open platform where you can identify a problem, whether inside our medical school or out in the community, design a solution, and successfully execute it.
True leadership means opening the door for everyone, building the skills to step through it, and leaving our community better than we found it!
Vote Fikir Belete for EMSA-AA President.
✨ Access. Growth. Impact. ✨
