🇧🇳 Brunei will introduce a new series of banknotes that standardises the use of the term "Brunei Dollars," replacing "Ringgit."
💵 The new series is scheduled to enter circulation in 2026 for B$1, B$5, B$10, B$100 and B$500.
💲 The new series also aligns Brunei's currency unit with the Currency Order 2004, which officially designates "dollar" as the national currency name.
💪 This change aims to strengthen public familiarity and encourage wider adoption of the term.
🇸🇬 Under the Currency Interchangeability Agreement, Brunei's and Singapore's currencies can be exchanged at par and without charge.
🏧 Banks in both countries also accept for deposit, from the public and businesses, currency issued by the other country at par and without charge.
🤑 Remember to take note of the new Bruneian notes when you see them in Singapore!
