♿ S'poreans born in 1979 or before with mild or moderate disabilities will no longer be able to opt in to the CareShield Life scheme 2026.
💰 CareShield Life is a long-term disability insurance scheme that provides monthly payouts in the event you are unable to perform 3 out of 6 Activities of Daily Living.
📋 These ADLs include:
Washing
Feeding
Toileting
Mobility
Wearing
Transferring
🚨 The scheme is compulsory for all S'porean citizens and PRs when they turn 30. For those born before 1979, their participation is optional.
👵🏻 Some seniors will enjoy lower premiums than what they are paying now.
👮 Defaulter who do not pay premiums for CareShield Life despite being able to afford to, will be served demand notes.
⚠️ There will be formal notices stating their outstanding premiums and interests imposed.
💡 Fun fact: premiums for females are higher than males. Guess why!
