🌿 DigiU Talks #1 – Building WebWisePay. Meet the CEO of WebWisePay

WebWisePay has reached a major milestone: the product is live, virtual Visa cards have been issued, and users are making real payments and transfers while actively topping up their cards. We are now preparing for the first rollout of physical cards.

But the most exciting part starts right after launch.

We need to figure out where and how WebWisePay can truly scale.

Which use cases are becoming regular. How the product performs under heavier loads. Whether a single corporate client can bring in hundreds of users and a steady flow of payments. Which countries and payment corridors we should prioritize. Where the economics look promising, and where we need to tweak our hypothesis.

The only way to answer these questions is by facing the market head-on.

Today, we're introducing the CEO of WebWisePay in detail for the first time and sharing a long-form conversation about the kind of company he envisions WebWisePay becoming in a few years.

We talked about why there's still room for new fintech companies in the market, why WebWisePay shouldn't limit itself to Africa, and what its growth could look like in the coming years.

We also took a closer look at the next stage.

Our immediate goals include scaling the test to 1,000 virtual cards, launching the first physical card trials across different countries, expanding the B2B segment, running a few corporate pilots, starting the process of obtaining our own fintech licenses, continuing the integration with OmyPayments, and exploring the first payment corridors.

The goal of this next stage is to gather enough real-world data to understand which use cases to scale faster and where to allocate more capital, time, and team resources.

Another key topic of our conversation was speed.

In fintech, you can spend ages perfecting a product behind closed doors. But the market doesn't stand still: competitors are snapping up customers, partners are choosing who to work with, and other players are gradually claiming new payment corridors.

In the tech business, capital doesn't just buy development. It buys time.

If you're currently deciding whether to continue participating in the current DigiU stage, we recommend watching it before the final scheduled Snapshot on August 31.

Then, in early September, we'll hold a separate meeting with the CEO of DigiU – the DigiU Strategy & Investor Update. We'll wrap up the third funding round and present the plans for the entire ecosystem heading into the fourth stage.
