A flight scheduled to depart from Israel for Mauritius on Saturday was cancelled after it was not granted landing permission, in an incident reportedly involving political and diplomatic considerations, according to Israeli media reports citing Air Seychelles.
The incident comes amid Mauritius’ increasingly critical stance toward Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip. The Mauritian government has officially affirmed its support for the rights of the Palestinian people and said it has reduced bilateral exchanges with Israel to a minimum since the current government came to power in November 2024.
