1. Open Standard Launches Enterprise Stablecoin OUSD
Global payments consortium Open Standard announced the official launch of OUSD, a stablecoin for enterprises and developers. OUSD supports issuance and redemption at a 1:1 USD exchange rate and can be utilized for banking operations, cross-border payments, and institutional trading. The token was launched on Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo, and is available on major centralized and decentralized exchanges such as Coinbase, Kraken, and Uniswap. Reserves are managed by BlackRock, Lead Bank, BNY, and others, and it will be available on Coinbase starting October 1.
2. MetaMask Responding to Infrastructure Security Incident
MetaMask stated it is responding to a security incident affecting part of its infrastructure. To date, no immediate threat to MetaMask wallets has been confirmed, and the company is working to resolve the issue with external partners and security advisors. Additionally, as a preventive measure, MetaMask explained that it is proactively excluding affected validators from non-custodial staking operations in consultation with customers and partners. MetaMask added that it operates staking on a non-custodial basis and does not manage customer withdrawal keys on their behalf.
3. DogeOS Reveals Dogecoin Testnet
DogeOS, the application layer for Dogecoin, announced the launch of its testnet. With this testnet, developers can now build applications in various fields within the Dogecoin ecosystem, including payments, decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming, and marketplaces. The DogeOS community is communicating with developers via Discord and social media to support ecosystem building, and the Dogecoin team stated it plans to share further related news in the future.
4. Base Completes Mainnet Deployment of Cobalt Upgrade
Base announced the deployment of Cobalt, its third major network upgrade of 2026, to the mainnet. This upgrade includes the Validity Transactions feature, which keeps transactions private until user-defined conditions are met, at which point they are executed. The B20 native token standard incorporates improvements such as Composite Policies, which combine allowlists and blocklists using logical operations; Schedule Multiplier Updates, which pre-schedule corporate actions like stock splits; and seizeWithMemo, which leaves a memo when reallocating token balances to create an on-chain record.
5. Aleo Supports Development of Privacy-Preserving Payment Apps with Dynamic
Aleo announced that it is supporting the development of payment applications with privacy features through a collaboration with Dynamic. This partnership targets financial service sectors where privacy is essential, such as payroll, humanitarian aid, and accounts payable. Developers can now build privacy-secured payment apps by combining Aleo's technology with Dynamic's solutions.
