First Red Session, Same Overbought Book
BTC eases off $80k as the four-day run pauses, with longs now the ones tested into a live PCE print.
BTC slipped to $78,420, down 1.7% since yesterday's note after failing to hold above $80k, printing a $78,199 low over the window before stabilising. It reads as a pause, not a reversal: the first down-session after four straight up-days, with RSI(14) still stretched at 79.6 and spot 13% above its 200-day. SOL gave back the most, off 4% to $96.17, and ETH eased to $2,449.
The steady leg underneath has not changed. Tuesday's session added $314m of spot ETF inflows, $180m of it into ETH funds, the one non-mechanical bid under a tape that has run hot into extreme greed. That inflow is doing the work spot demand needs to do to hold these levels after a four-day squeeze.
Dealer hedging now concentrates thick around $78-82k, where positioning caps upside and cushions downside, keeping spot pinned into Wednesday's 12:30 UTC Core PCE and Prelim GDP. A soft print supports the stretched book; a hot one gives the profit-takers their excuse. Overbought into a live release, with Friday's $6.4bn options expiry the next lid to clear.
