The Jews and Jesus' crucifixion.
A portion of the Jewish population hoped for a Messiah (a God-anointed king) who would drive out the Roman rulers and restore the kingdom of Israel and usher in an era of world peace. That didn't happen then, that's why she didn't believe in our Jesus.
At the time Jesus was alive, all his followers were of Jewish origin. Jesus himself was Jewish, preached to the Jewish people, and his first followers, including the twelve apostles, were Jews who lived according to Jewish laws and traditions.
What about the crucifixion of Christ?
The gospel describes that Jewish authorities (high priests) accused Jesus of blasphemy, but they did not have the authority to put him to death, so they handed him over to the Roman governor Pontius Pilate.
So it was the Romans who killed Jesus at the insistence of Jewish authorities and high priests and their followers.
So it is not the fault of all Jews as some ignorant people claim
But remember that the crucifixion, the death of Jesus, was not an accident, but predestined and predicted.
Everything that happened to Jesus (betrayal, trial by Pilate, the nails) was part of a predestined event foretold in the Old Testament (like Isaiah 53).
Psalm 22 is considered a prophetic description of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, written 1,000 years before the event. The Psalm describes details such as piercing hands and feet, mockery bystanders, and dividing clothes by lot, which directly refers to the Gospels.
So the majority of the Jewish people are still waiting for the coming of the Messiah (Mashiach), as Jesus does not meet the traditional Jewish expectations of an earthly king from the lineage of David who brings peace to earth. This group of Jews will go through the great tribulation. The Great Tribulation is a period in which God will once again fully resume and complete His plan for Israel to lead the people to repentance and purify them "by fire".
Israel will ultimately be saved by the Second Coming of Jesus Christ at the depth of this crisis.
