🇷🇺🤝🇿🇦 On 14 August 2026, the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SPb CCI) hosted a graduation ceremony for executives from ESKOM, South Africa’s state energy corporation. The event concluded a management training programme organized by the International Institute for Business Cooperation. The curriculum equipped ESKOM’s leadership with advanced competencies for efficient energy management, combining intensive lectures at the SPb CCI with firsthand site visits to St. Petersburg’s leading industrial e nterprises.
Tatyana Vlasova, Director General of the International Institute for Business Cooperation, opened the ceremony by praising the graduates' high engagement and emphasizing the importance of structured training for sustainable energy development. Irina Karpenko, Director of the SPb CCI International Relations Department, highlighted the Chamber's vital role in driving trade and economic cooperation with African partners, noting that the platform consistently serves as a trusted hub for joint initiatives.
🎙 Distinguished guest speakers – including Alexander Agafonov (Office of the Representative of MFA Russia in St.Petersburg), Olga Goryshina (Committee for Industrial Policy) and Maria Ershova (Export Support Centre) – underscored the impact of educational partnerships on bilateral business ties.
Joining via video link from South Africa, Senior Counsellor of the Russian Embassy Kirill Kalinin and Deputy Trade Representative Pavel Komarov added that both diplomatic and trade missions actively reinforce these relations, stressing that top-tier executive talent is essential for the energy sector.
✨ The event concluded with the presentation of diplomas by Olga Goryshina and Nikolay Lukichev, Head of International Protocol at the Institute. This graduation successfully marked the end of the executive internship, reflecting South Africa's strong interest in Russian industrial expertise and reaffirming both nations' commitment to deepening strategic bilateral cooperation in various fields.
