Zuckerberg permanently disabled cameras on 7,000 smart glasses in a single day
Meta blocked the recording feature for owners who attempted to bypass the recording light indicator to secretly take photos or videos. Some users covered the light with tape, while others physically drilled it out of the casing — all of them had their cameras remotely disabled.
While a regular sticker can be removed to restore access, once the indicator is mechanically removed, the cameras will never work again.
