📢 해킹 시도에 따른 비정상 메시지 발송 및 조치 안내

금일 18:00(UTC)경, 베리챗의 전체 공지 메시지 전송 기능을 악용한 해킹 시도가 발생하여, 특정 URL이 포함된 비정상 메시지가 전체 유저분들께 발송되었습니다.
해당 URL은 인증되지 않은 웹사이트의 접속을 제한하는 보안 장치에 의해 베리챗 앱 내에서 클릭하더라도 열리지 않도록 차단되었습니다.
■ 메시지 삭제 조치 완료
문제를 인지한 즉시 메시지를 읽지 않으신 유저분들께 발송된 메시지를 삭제했으며, 이미 메시지를 읽으신 약 29,000명의 유저분들께 남아 있던 메시지도 모두 삭제했습니다.
현재 전체 유저를 대상으로 해당 메시지 삭제가 완료되었습니다.
■ 보안 대응 및 향후 조치
베리팀은 해킹 시도로 인한 피해를 예방하기 위해 3중 이상의 보안 체계를 운영하고 있습니다. 현재까지 파악한 바로는, 이번 공격은 1차 방어선을 통과했으나 2차 방어선에서 해당 URL 접속이 차단되었습니다. 다만, 비정상 메시지가 발송된 사실 자체를 무겁게 받아들이고 있으며, 원인을 면밀히 점검하고 취약점을 보완하겠습니다.
베리챗이 점점 더 많은 유저분들의 관심과 사랑을 받으며 성장하는 만큼, 앞으로 해킹 시도도 더불어 늘어나겠지만, 베리팀은 지속적으로 기술력과 보안 체계를 강화하여 여러분이 안심하고 베리챗을 이용하실 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠습니다.

📢 Security Notice: Hacking Attempt, Unauthorized Message, and Our Response
Hello, I’m Bryan, KO, leader of the VERY team.
At approximately 18:00 UTC today, a hacking attempt exploiting VeryChat’s broadcast messaging feature resulted in an unauthorized message containing a URL being sent to all users.
Our security controls restrict access to websites that have not been approved by VeryChat. As a result, the URL was blocked from opening within the VeryChat app, even when tapped.
■ Message Removal Completed
As soon as we became aware of the issue, we deleted the message for users who had not read it. We have now also deleted it for the approximately 29,000 users who had already read it.
The message has now been removed for all users.
■ Security Response and Next Steps
The VERY team maintains at least three layers of security to help prevent harm from hacking attempts. Based on our findings so far, this attack bypassed the first layer of defense, but the second layer blocked access to the URL. Nevertheless, we take the unauthorized message being sent very seriously. We will thoroughly investigate the cause and address the vulnerabilities involved.
As VeryChat continues to grow in popularity and gain the support of more users, we expect hacking attempts to increase as well. The VERY team will continue to strengthen our technical capabilities and security systems, doing our utmost to ensure you can use VeryChat with confidence.
