DELL is one of my largest holdings in my portfolio, although I sold 50% of my position on August 5 after a 260% YTD gain.โบ We saw a very impressive surge in DELL today. The stock was trading more than 10% higher at times after the company reported very strong earnings yesterday.
โบ DELL is currently still up around 4.5% and hovering around $444.00.
โบ DELLโs strong gains look significantly less extraordinary when taking into account the overall weak August performance and the losses immediately ahead of earnings. These came amid broad selling in AI infrastructure stocks and generally cautious sentiment toward AI-related stocks - even though there continue to be no signs of a slowdown in AI spending.
โบ DELL reported results well above expectations and showed particularly impressive profitability, which also resulted in a massive EPS beat ($7.04 adjusted vs. $4.92 expected).
โบ Despite DELL being up around 253% YTD, the stock is not excessively expensive. BofA, for example, raised its price target from $505 pre-earnings to $600 after the report. We are working with a wide TP
for now.
