🇶🇦 🇱🇧 ⚡️ — Qatar has proposed building two power plants in Lebanon over three years and signing a 20-year LNG supply deal with Beirut to revive the country's energy sector, according to a document cited by Reuters. The proposal, dated October 2026, still needs approval from both governments and is subject to amendment, a source told Reuters.

The plants, at Deir Ammar and Zahrani, would each have a capacity of 825 MW, and QatarEnergy would supply LNG via a floating regasification unit. The plan also includes 800 MW of solar, 440 MW of wind, battery storage and 300 MW of power imports from Syria.
