— Palestinian Authority officers are receiving armoured warfare training in China, according to an investigation by the Jewish Voice website.
The report says increasing numbers of Palestinian Authority personnel have been sent to China for military training in recent years, covering armoured warfare, advanced navigation, naval operations, sniping, anti-tank warfare and command courses, some lasting several months. One example cited is PA officer Hassan Taha, who posted on Facebook on 20 July 2026 that he had completed studies at China's military academy for armoured warfare and armaments in Beijing. He said he had completed a specialised course in commanding companies of armoured and mechanised vehicles. The investigation also reports that China's consul in the Palestinian territories met Mahmoud Haroun, head of the PA's military training division, around six weeks ago. Haroun reportedly thanked China for providing military courses to PA personnel. The report raises questions about the extent of the training as Netanyahu warns of the risk of Palestinian Authority forces turning their weapons against Israel. The IDF, COGAT and Shin Bet reportedly did not provide substantive responses, while senior ministers said they were unaware of the training.
