Bitcoin may be faster than it seems

TON, Toncoin, GRAM: Three names, one asset. We understand the rebranding once and for all!

This is where many people get confused, and frankly, we can't blame them for that. There are many names, but the essence is the same.

Let's just put everything on the shelves (horizontally):

TON is a blockchain. Short for The Open Network. This is the foundation: the chain, validators, architecture. It doesn't change. It used to be a TON, and it will always be a TON.

Toncoin is the old name of this blockchain's own token. What you bought, exchanged, and steamed. However, at its core it is still the same asset.

GRAM is a new name for the same token. No replacement, hard fork, or migration is taking place. This is a purely cosmetic, but important procedure.

The token is simply renamed from Toncoin to GRAM. That's all. The end of the story.

Toncoin Rebranding: What will actually change?

In short: not that much, at least technically. This is a pure renaming.

Without exchanging tokens.
Without transferring contracts.
You have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Everything you hold stays in its place. As the developers say:

"The blockchain remains a TON / An open network, only the name and ticker of the token change. Balances, addresses, contracts, NFT, staking, DeFi — everything remains unchanged. No exchange, bridge, ransom demand, or migration. No action is required."

Bottom line: what's going to change?

Ticker. TON becomes GRAM. Exchanges and wallets will update their interfaces over the next three weeks as the transition completes. During this period, you can see both names in different places, and this is completely normal.

The essence of the update. In this update, GRAM is positioned as Telegram's own unified payment system and in-game currency for a platform with 900 million monthly users.
