Job Summary
The Public Health Officer will work in the Outpatient Department (OPD), providing comprehensive medical care, preventive services, and health education to patients. The role requires clinical competence, ethical practice, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct patient consultations, including history taking and physical examinations
Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions
Prescribe medications appropriately according to national treatment guidelines
Request and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
Provide emergency first aid and initial stabilization when required
Provide family planning counseling and services
Diagnose and manage communicable and non-communicable diseases
Provide minor medical procedures and wound management
Offer health education and disease prevention counseling
Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed
Refer complicated cases to higher-level facilities when necessary
Participate in community health promotion activities
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the clinic
Ensure ethical and confidential handling of patient information
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Public Health
Valid professional license
Experience: 0 and above year
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Commitment to patient-centered care
