“When doing inner work, one of the most important things is to see yourself as you actually are. To have the capacity to be with your difficult emotions without identifying with them, without being overwhelmed by them or running away from them, and to allow yourself to feel them.
You have to be able to sit with grief, sadness, shame, and anger, and not project them onto others you might judge as “asleep” or “caught in the matrix.” In the truther/conspiracy movement, we see this a lot: people blaming the world for their own lives and unhappiness.
It also means being able to look at the parts of yourself that are painful, and the ways you repeat the same dynamics and patterns in relationships over and over again, without blaming your ex, current partner, or whole genders.
When you learn these skills to heal the parts that are driving you, you can have more honest and authentic conversations with others. Then you gain the ability to be in real relationship with real people, where you can repair conflict and tolerate being misunderstood without collapsing.
Doing inner work is not glamorous. You cannot build a brand around it, and it won’t make you look “more special”; it will simply make you more human. This is the actual work: real psychological and spiritual transformation is not about ascending to some higher dimension, but about becoming more grounded and present in this life.
The greatest teachers throughout history were not advertising how special, enlightened, or psychic they were. They didn’t talk about how many special codes, downloads, or transmissions they had. They were known for their compassion and for walking side by side with other humans, never placing themselves above them.”
