— The U.S., Britain, France and Germany are preparing to seek an IAEA resolution next week referring Iran to the UN Security Council for the first time in 20 years, according to diplomats and a draft seen by Reuters.The proposed resolution calls for the IAEA director general to send the measure and previous resolutions on Iran to the U.N. Security Council and General Assembly. It also urges Tehran to “urgently remedy its non-compliance” with its safeguards agreement and take the steps required for the agency to verify its nuclear declarations.
The draft has not yet been formally submitted and negotiations over its wording remain ongoing.
