— At least four candidates are being considered to replace former Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, who resigned last week following repeated clashes with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, NBC News reports.Hegseth is supporting Pentagon spokesperson and former Army officer Sean Parnell for the position.
Other contenders include Army chief financial officer Marc Andersen, former IDF volunteer and Rep. Brian Mast of Florida, and Veterans Affairs official and combat veteran Sam Brown. President Trump has already been briefed on Andersen and other potential candidates.
It remains unclear when Trump will nominate a permanent replacement.
