— Iceland voted against reopening negotiations to join the European Union, 13 years after accession talks were suspended.52.8% voted against the government’s proposal to resume negotiations, compared with 47.2% in favor — a difference of around 12,600 votes.
More than 225,000 people participated, with turnout reaching 82.5%, the highest recorded in an Icelandic election since 2009.
