— The U.S. Supreme Court has cleared the way for President Trump to continue construction of the massive new White House ballroom, rejecting an effort by a preservation group to halt the controversial project indefinitely.The decision was 5–4, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the court’s three liberal justices in dissent.
The majority said the preservation group suing likely lacked the legal right to challenge the project. The justices did not say whether the ballroom project was actually lawful.
