Skydive incident

On 7th August I had a fairly decent skydiving accident at Langar. I was on a tracking jump when I was knocked unconscious by another skydiver with a kick to the back of my head (unfortunate case of human error). I don’t remember much of what happened, but apparently at some point I decided I’d quite like to continue living, because I managed to deploy my main somewhere between 2,000 and 1,000ft (whilst only semi conscious, I don’t remember anything). My reserve also decided to join the party with a perfectly timed AAD fire, and I eventually landed in a tree in an industrial area, conveniently close to a road and a building

Best part about the whole ordeal was being told that when help arrived the first thing I said was ‘help me get this rig off so the paramedics don’t cut it’ 😅 I already had all my straps undone

I’ve ended up with two broken vertebrae in my back and a broken tibia and fibula in my left leg. After a week in hospital being high on morphine and gossiping with the old ladies on my ward I had surgery to put a rod in my leg and have been released back into the world

All things considered, I’m doing pretty well and feeling positive. Hopefully the recovery is nice and straightforward, and I’ll be back in the sky before I know it
