Dear community,
Please take a moment to read this message.
At the end of last month, our resident DJ and friend Jamaica Suk contacted us to let us know that she would be unable to perform at the July edition of Four Play due to a medical emergency.
What initially appeared to be a spinal fracture and fluid in the lungs led to weeks of hospital stays, ICU admissions, extensive testing, and life-support interventions. Jamaica has since been diagnosed with an aggressive form of triple-negative breast cancer that has metastasized to her spine and liver.
The diagnosis is extremely serious. However, she is now receiving appropriate treatment and seeking additional medical guidance. Throughout this ordeal, Jamaica has remained remarkably strong, lucid, self-advocating, and even able to find moments of humor while taking each day as it comes.
Like many artists, Jamaica’s livelihood depends entirely on her ability to perform. Without being physically present on stage, there is no income. There is no salary or sick leave running in the background, while rent and everyday expenses continue regardless.
Her friends and family have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help support her during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, can make a difference.
If you are able to help, please consider joining us and many others who have already contributed:

We wish Jamaica strength, healing, and a full return to the dancefloors she has given so much to.
Thank you for your attention,
