โ ๏ธ IT Employees: Always Get Your LWD & Notice Period Waiver in Writing!
An LTI Mindtree employee reportedly discussed with her manager the possibility of reducing/waiving her 2-month notice period. During the discussion, the manager agreed to the arrangement.
However, later, the employee was reportedly asked to pay around โน2 lakh towards the remaining notice period.
๐ This is why verbal discussions are not enough.
A simple official email confirming the agreed Last Working Day (LWD) and the notice-period waiver/reduction could have provided clear documentation of the agreement.
๐ Our advice to IT employees:
โ
Always get your LWD confirmed through official email
โ
Clearly document any notice-period reduction or waiver
โ
Keep HR and manager confirmations safely documented
โ
If an agreement is made verbally, send an email afterward summarizing what was discussed
โ Never rely solely on verbal assurances
๐ข Know your rights. Keep important employment decisions in writing
