Offline exam: Kerala Administrative Service/KAS, Kerala PSC gazetted services
Online CBT exam: No major PCS-level exam; only selected Kerala PSC online exams for specific posts. Kerala PSC separately lists OMR and online exam answer keys, and KAS has OMR question papers.
Telangana:
Offline exam: TGPSC Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV
Online CBT exam: Generally no major PCS Group exam; only if notification specifically says CBRT/CBT. Group I prelims 2024 was specifically shifted to OMR-based offline mode, and TGPSC has OMR sheets for Group exams.
Andhra Pradesh:
Offline exam: APPSC Group I, Group II, Group IV
Online CBT exam: No major PCS-level exam currently as regular CBT; computer proficiency test may be computer-based for some posts. APPSC portal notices refer to written exams in offline OMR-based objective type mode.
Rajasthan:
Offline exam: RPSC RAS/RTS, Rajasthan State & Subordinate Services
Online CBT exam: No major RAS/PCS exam; CBT may happen only for selected smaller/technical recruitments, not regular RAS. RSSB/RPSC-type large exams are generally offline/OMR; RSSB mentions mode can change to CBT only in some cases.
Uttar Pradesh:
Offline exam: UPPSC PCS, ACF/RFO, RO/ARO-type PSC exams
Online CBT exam: No major PCS exam. UPPSC PCS prelims are conducted across physical centres, and UPPSC uses OMR-sheet systems for commission exams.
Karnataka:
Offline exam: KPSC KAS / Gazetted Probationers, Group A & B PSC exams
Online CBT exam: No major PCS/KAS exam. KAS prelims are generally offline/pen-paper/OMR, followed by descriptive mains.
Tamil Nadu:
Offline exam: TNPSC Group I, Group II/IIA, Group IV
Online CBT exam: Not for main PCS Group I/II/IV; CBT mostly for Combined Technical Services/special technical exams. TNPSC Group I notification uses prelims–mains–interview pattern, while technical services are listed separately.
Bihar:
Offline exam: BPSC CCE / Bihar PCS, BPSC judicial/PSC written exams
Online CBT exam: No major PCS exam. BPSC CCE prelims use OMR sheets; recent BPSC 71st CCE answer key reports also mention candidates viewing OMR sheets.
Himachal Pradesh:
Offline exam: HPPSC HPAS / HAS, Himachal Administrative Service
Online CBT exam: No major HPAS/PCS exam; CBT only for selected screening tests/posts. HPAS pattern is prelims OMR, mains descriptive, interview.
