Suvendu Adhikari questions separate felicitation list for Muslim board toppers
West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari said he had felicitated 20 board examination toppers, including students from different communities.
He said the Minority Affairs Department later sent a separate list of 27 Muslim students for felicitation.
Questioning the need for a separate list, Adhikari said that a student should be treated equally irrespective of religion.
โA student is a student โ whether Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian. Everyone should be treated equally,โ he said.
His remarks came while speaking about his government's vision of having a common education system without separate administrative arrangements based on community or institution.
