Mass immigration will never be ended if Australians lose the freedom to oppose it.
For years, Australians who questioned immigration were smeared as extremists while Labor and Liberal governments continued pushing the country in the same direction. Now that consensus is finally beginning to crack. Immigration is becoming one of the defining political issues in the country, One Nation is surging, and millions of Australians who were previously ignored are demanding a course correction.
And at exactly the moment the right is growing stronger, Australia is being buried under an unprecedented wave of hate speech laws, censorship powers and restrictions on political organisation.
If Australians cannot openly discuss immigration, organise against it, protest it and support political movements committed to ending it, there will be no democratic course correction. Free speech is the prerequisite for every other political victory we hope to achieve.
The left has pushed Australia in one direction for decades. Now the country is pushing back. We will not allow censorship laws to short-circuit that correction.
On August 30, we march for the freedom that makes every other fight possible.
