• In FY25, the total containers handled at all India ports stood at 23 million TEUs (v/s 21 million TEUs in FY24). • With the e-commerce business gaining popularity in India, online freight platforms and aggregators are on the rise in the Indian logistics market, given the need for low entry barriers and less capital investment compared to setting up of an asset-based business model. • With increased private and government investment in the sector, India’s port capacity is likely to grow at a CAGR of 5% to 6% by 2022 and is expected to add a capacity of 275 MT to 325 MT. • Further, Indian Railways aims to increase its freight traffic from 1.1 billion tonne in 2017 to 3.3 billion tonne in 2030, aided by different factors and the freight traffic on Indian airports is likely to reach 17 million tonne by FY40.
