SAGA Space Architects, in collaboration with 3DCP and COBOD, has completed Skovsporet — a community of 36 self-contained student apartments in Holstebro, Denmark, described as Europe's largest 3D-printed housing project. The apartments are spread across six single-story buildings sharing courtyards, gardens, and paths, with 90% of the site's existing trees preserved. A COBOD BOD3 3D printer extruded a cement-like mixture layer by layer to build the concrete shells, requiring just three on-site supervisors. Printing efficiency improved dramatically over the course of the project: the first building of six apartments took several weeks to print; the last took just five days. Human builders then added roofs, doors, windows, furniture, and finishing details. The apartments range from 40 to 50 square meters, each with a kitchen, study area, lounge, bathroom, and sleeping area.
