About the Project

Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is implementing the Horticultural Supply Chain for Smallholder Farmers (HORTISUN) Project in Kaduna State, funded by the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) through the African Development Bank (AfDB).

The project aims to strengthen Nigeria’s horticulture sector, particularly the tomato value chain, by increasing productivity, reducing post-harvest losses, and promoting sustainable agribusiness opportunities for youth- and women-led MSMEs.

Job Summary

The Project Coordinator will provide overall leadership, coordination, and supervision for the successful implementation of the HORTISUN Project, ensuring compliance with AfDB/FAPA requirements and WEWE’s operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead project planning, implementation, and coordination activities.
* Develop annual work plans, budgets, and procurement plans.
* Supervise field operations and ensure timely project delivery.
* Oversee project finances, procurement, and donor compliance.
* Coordinate stakeholders, partners, MSMEs, and government agencies.
* Prepare project reports, mission briefs, and implementation updates.
* Facilitate project steering committee and stakeholder meetings.
* Represent the project at donor, partnership, and industry engagements.
* Mentor project staff and ensure high performance.
* Promote youth and gender inclusion across project activities.

Requirements

* Master's Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Project Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 7 years' experience managing donor-funded agricultural development projects.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
* Experience working with MSMEs, private sector actors, and government institutions.
* Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
* Knowledge of AfDB or other multilateral donor procedures is an advantage.
* Fluency in English; working knowledge of Hausa is an added advantage.
