i genuinely don't understand why SOME people romanticize ADHD.. like, you're not diagnosed, but you're constantly joking about being ‘so all over the place’ and turning it into some cute little quirky personality trait?? 😭 having a scattered attention span isn't some adorable personality aesthetic, and a real condition shouldn't be reduced to a social media trope.
and honestly, can we also make an effort to stay on topic during conversations?? because sometimes someone asks you ONE question and suddenly we're 15 unrelated topics deep, the original question is completely forgotten, and somehow we're no closer to an actual answer….like omggg, take a second, collect your thoughts and finish one conversation before starting five others.
and before anyone misunderstands me, i'm not talking about people who genuinely have ADHD or struggle with executive functioning. i'm talking about the casual romanticization of it and the tendency to treat every distracting habit as something quirky instead of recognizing that sometimes we could all benefit from a little more self-awareness and consideration for the people we're communicating with
